NUJ NEC Backs Ikeogwu-led Credentials Committee, Commends Due Process

The National Executive Council NEC of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ has expressed full confidence in the Comrade Michael Ikeogwu-led National Credentials Committee.

Vote of confidence, passed during a virtual NEC meeting on November 10, 2024, praised the committee’s commitment to due process and strict adherence to the NUJ Constitution, ensuring a fair election process.

In a communique signed by Abubakar Musa Waziri, Princess Ronke Samo, and Mary Domtur, the NEC ratified final delegate lists for the upcoming Triennial Delegate Conference in Owerri, Imo State, set for November 26-28.

NEC also set November 16 as the election date for Benue Council to resolve long-standing crises there.

The NUJ NEC also addressed economic concerns, urging the Federal Government to take bold action against rising inflation and to ensure timely salaries for federal workers, citing recent payment delays.

Council extended condolences to President Tinibu and the Nigerian Army on the loss of Chief of Army Staff, General Taoreed Lagbaja.
