The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Borno State Council,under the leadership of Comrade Abdulkareem Haruna on behalf of all working journalists in the state strongly condemns the heinous and barbaric attack on Konduga town last night, which resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives and left many others injured. We are deeply saddened by the senseless killing of at least 12 people and the injury of 18 others in this brutal act of terror.
The NUJ Borno State Council extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prays for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries. We stand in solidarity with the people of Konduga during this difficult time.
This latest attack is a stark reminder of the persistent threat posed by insurgents in our region and the urgent need for sustained and coordinated efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
The union commend the efforts of the security forces in responding to the attack and urge them to intensify their operations to hunt down the perpetrators of this cowardly act and bring them to justice.
The NUJ Borno State Council calls on the government at all levels to provide immediate assistance to the affected community, including medical care for the injured, shelter for those displaced, and psychosocial support for those traumatized by the attack.
The NUJ Borno State Council reaffirms its commitment to promoting peace, unity, and development in Borno State and will continue to work with all stakeholders to build a more resilient and secure society.
