In a bold move to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration across Katsina State, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Katsina Command, has deployed 2,100 well-trained personnel to strategic locations for maximum security coverage and protection of critical national assets.

Commandant of Corps Aminu Datti Ahmad, fsf, MADM, FCAI, announced the massive deployment during a high-level management briefing held at the State Command Headquarters on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

The strategic operation, according to the Commandant, is in alignment with the vision of the Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, who remains unwavering in his commitment to securing Nigeria’s key infrastructures.

Ahmad noted that the operation includes intensive surveillance, credible intelligence gathering, and community engagement, alongside full collaboration with sister security agencies to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Sallah celebration.

“The protection of lives, property, and our nation’s vital assets is paramount. Our operatives will maintain visible and covert presence across Katsina, Daura, and all 34 local government areas,” said Commandant Ahmad.

The deployment will cover key religious and traditional venues such as the Emirs’ Palaces at Kofar Soro (Katsina) and Kangiwa (Daura), central mosques, and designated Eid prayer grounds. Special security teams have also been detailed to monitor Hawan Bariki festivities and other public events in both emirates.

In his Eid message, Commandant Ahmad extended warm felicitations to His Excellency, Governor Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, as well as the revered monarchs Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, CFR (Emir of Katsina) and Alhaji (Dr.) Umar Faruq Umar, CON (Emir of Daura). He also prayed for enduring peace, unity, and prosperity in Katsina State and the nation at large.

Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Unit Commanders, and Special Forces have been directed to enforce watertight security and maintain operational coordination throughout the Sallah period.

Commandant Ahmad urged NSCDC officers to demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and synergy with other agencies, and also called on citizens to be law-abiding and cooperate with security personnel for a successful celebration.

“We are fully ready to secure this Sallah. Our personnel must remain focused, alert, and work in harmony with our partners. Katsina must celebrate in peace,” the Commandant affirmed.
