NSCDC, NCoS Strengthen Security Synergy in Katsina

Commandant Ahmad Visits NCoS Controller, Assures Continued Collaboration

The Katsina State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad fsf MADM, has reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) in the state.

During a visit to the State Controller of NCoS, Comptroller Baba Umar, at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Katsina, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, Commandant Ahmad emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in tackling security challenges and safeguarding national assets.

“This visit is to further solidify our working relationship and enhance cooperation in ensuring the security of Katsina State. Our collective effort is crucial in addressing insecurity and promoting peace and stability,” Ahmad stated.

He commended the NCoS leadership for its dedication to the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates, pledging the NSCDC’s full support in securing correctional facilities and other critical infrastructures across the state.

The visit also aligned with the vision of NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Audi, mni OFR, who has consistently prioritized safety, security, and asset protection nationwide.

NCoS Pledges Continued Cooperation

In his response, Comptroller Baba Umar lauded the NSCDC for its unwavering commitment to security and critical infrastructure protection.

“The efforts of NSCDC in ensuring the safety of lives and property in Katsina State are commendable. We look forward to continued collaboration to keep the state safe,” the NCoS Controller affirmed.

He further highlighted the long-standing partnership between both agencies in crime prevention and public safety.

Commandant Visits Ailing Officers

In a show of leadership and compassion, Commandant Ahmad also visited two ailing NSCDC personnel, including the Chief Imam of the Command, who are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.

The visit underscored the Commandant’s commitment to the welfare of his personnel, ensuring they receive the necessary care and support in times of need.
