NSCDC Katsina Records Major Security Wins in 2025, Arrests Over 2,000 Suspects, Recovers ₦56.6m

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina State Command, has rolled out an impressive scorecard of achievements for 2025, reaffirming its frontline role in safeguarding lives, property, and critical national assets across the state.

Addressing journalists during the End-of-Year 2025 Press Briefing on Tuesday, the State Commandant said the Command recorded remarkable operational successes despite persistent security challenges ranging from banditry and kidnapping to vandalism, drug abuse, and farmers–herders clashes.

The Commandant attributed the gains to divine guidance, strong leadership, and institutional support, expressing gratitude to the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for his strategic direction, as well as to the Katsina State Government under Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for sustained support to the Corps.

He noted that the Command adopted multi-layered strategies throughout the year, including night city patrols, intensive surveillance, emergency and disaster response readiness, intelligence gathering, public enlightenment, monitoring of Private Guard Companies (PGCs), and robust synergy with sister security agencies.

The Commandant also commended NSCDC personnel for their resilience, loyalty, and dedication, while praising the people of Katsina State for their cooperation and timely intelligence that aided operations.

According to the Command’s official breakdown, the following milestones were recorded in 2025: 2,088 suspects arrested from 4,230 cases attended statewide,93 arrests linked to vandalization of critical assets,942 suspects arrested for theft-related offences,272 suspects arrested over illicit drugs and related substances,26 arrests for assault,4,767 disputes resolved through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).1,158 disputes currently undergoing ADR,43 cases undergoing prosecution in various court, 577 judgements secured across the Command,755 suspects arrested for sundry crimes, including breach of trust and thuggery and ₦56,630,800 recovered from criminal activities.

In addition, several exhibits were recovered, including vandalised properties, vehicles, motorcycles, bales of insecticide-treated mosquito nets, bags of cannabis, and assorted illicit drugs.

The Commandant urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements, persons, or items to the NSCDC, stressing that public cooperation remains a critical pillar of effective security management.

He concluded by appreciating media organisations in Katsina State for their consistent support and responsible reportage, noting that timely and accurate information dissemination has strengthened public trust and security awareness.

“Together, we will sustain peace, protect critical assets, and deny criminals any breathing space in Katsina State,” he assured.
