The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Katsina State marked a significant milestone today, passing out 139 new intakes who completed a rigorous six-month training program.
The ceremony, held at the Federal Secretariat Complex on Kano Road, Katsina, coincided with the celebration of World Civil Defence Day and the 3rd anniversary of NSCDC CG A.A Audi PhD, mni, OFR in office.
World Civil Defence Day, observed annually on March 1st, was officially designated by the United Nations (UN) on December 6th, 1990. The theme for 2024 is “Honor Heroes and Promote Safety Skills,” recognizing the sacrifice of NSCDC in protecting lives, critical national assets, infrastructure, and promoting safety awareness in communities.
His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda PhD, who was the review officer, congratulated the new intakes on completing their training. Represented by the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu Danmusa, the Governor charged the personnel to commit to promoting peace and security in the state.
CC Jamilu A Indabawa, the Commandant, commended the CG NSCDC for his contributions and achievements during his three years in office. He urged the newly recruited personnel to play a crucial role in promoting safety, security, and protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
The CG NSCDC, represented by ACG Babangida Abdullahi Dusinma, emphasized the Corps’ commitment to promoting safety and security in the country. The personnel will be deployed to address the rising insecurity in the state.
The event, graced by dignitaries including heads of security agencies, the Chief Judge of Katsina State, the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, and their Royal Highnesses the Emir of Katsina and Daura,
showcased the collaborative effort to enhance security and safety in Katsina State.
