A solemn yet historic moment, the Katsina State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad, joined Governor Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, and top security chiefs to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to Katsina on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, for the state burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
The reception at Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport featured a full military guard of honour in tribute to the late national icon, as President Tinubu arrived to personally receive the remains of his predecessor.
Also on hand to receive the Commander-in-Chief were an impressive lineup of state governors, including AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Ahmed Aliyu (Sokoto), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), and Bassey Edet Otu (Cross River).
Katsina Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, and Presidential Aide Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari also formed part of the high-level reception team.
Commandant Ahmad’s presence reflected NSCDC’s unwavering commitment to national duty, coordination, and honour at critical moments in Nigeria’s history.
