The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina State Command, Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad, has received royal blessings from His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman CFR LLD, the Emir of Katsina.
During a courtesy visit to the Emir’s Palace at Kofar Soro, Commandant Ahmad expressed his deep respect for the traditional institution and formally introduced himself as the substantive NSCDC Commandant in the state. He emphasized the critical role of traditional rulers in maintaining law and order and sought the Emir’s guidance and support in executing the Corps’ mandate effectively.
Ahmad conveyed the warm regards of the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni, OFR, and reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to tackling insecurity nationwide. He pledged to work closely with the Emirate to enhance safety and security in Katsina State.
In response, the Emir of Katsina commended Commandant Ahmad’s leadership and reaffirmed the Emirate’s unwavering support for security agencies. He urged the NSCDC to uphold principles of justice, integrity, discipline, and patriotism while discharging their duties. Stressing the importance of proactive intelligence and secrecy in security operations, the Emir also called for stronger collaboration among all security agencies, including non-formal security actors.
In a related development, Commandant Ahmad also paid a familiarization visit to the State Controller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), CIS Mohammed Adamu Mahmoud, at the NIS State Headquarters in Katsina. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between both agencies to combat trans-border crimes and protect critical national assets.
CIS Mahmoud welcomed the NSCDC Commandant and assured him of the NIS’s full cooperation. “We are more than sister agencies; we are brothers and sisters who must work together for the overall security of our nation,” he affirmed.
With these high-profile engagements, Commandant Ahmad continues to strengthen security partnerships in Katsina State, reinforcing the NSCDC’s role in safeguarding lives and property.
