In a powerful nod to leadership and dedication to public service, the Katsina State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Commandant of Corps Aminu Datti Ahmad has been conferred with an Award of Excellence by the Civil Society Network on Migration and Development (CSOnetMADE), Nigeria.
The prestigious award ceremony, held at Daura Motel on Thursday, April 17, 2025, celebrated key figures advancing peace and development across the state. According to CSOnetMADE’s Coordinator, Mr. Emeka Chris Obiezu, the honour was in recognition of Commandant Ahmad’s unwavering commitment to promoting security, stability, and humanity in Katsina State.
“Within a short period, Commandant Ahmad has distinguished himself through visionary leadership and impactful strategies that have significantly enhanced the state’s security architecture,” Obiezu remarked.
The award highlights the increasing synergy between civil society and security agencies in building a safer, more prosperous society.
In his acceptance speech, Commandant Ahmad humbly expressed gratitude to the organisation for the recognition and reaffirmed his dedication to service.
“I sincerely thank the Coordinator and his team for this honour. From day one, my focus has been on strengthening safety and protecting lives and property across Katsina,” he stated.
Commandant Ahmad also paid tribute to the national leadership of the NSCDC, citing the inspiration he draws from the Corps’ Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR.
“The CG’s tireless drive for excellence has ushered in a new era of professionalism across the Corps,” he noted.
The event, which brought together key stakeholders in security, governance, and civil society, also honoured other high-profile individuals, including:
