In a move set to redefine sports development in Katsina State, the National Sports Commission (NSC) has pledged to collaborate with the Katsina State Sports Ministry to upgrade sporting infrastructure and promote local talent.
Katsina State Sports Commissioner Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle, alongside State Football Academy Chairman Ahmed Muhammad, visited the NSC Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Dikko, in Abuja to seek strategic support for revitalizing the state’s sporting facilities.
During the visit, Shargalle emphasized the need for modernizing the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium to meet international standards. He also pushed for greater support in advancing players from the Katsina Football Academy to the national level.
Describing the collaboration as a major breakthrough, Shargalle stated that the partnership would boost sports development and open new opportunities for young athletes in the state.
In response, NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko welcomed the initiative, affirming the commission’s readiness to upgrade the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium and strengthen ties with the Katsina Football Academy.
Dikko further announced his plans to visit Katsina during the upcoming football scouting tournament, organized by the France-based Bondy Football Academy in conjunction with the Katsina Football Academy.
The collaboration marks a new chapter in Katsina’s sports sector, promising world-class facilities and enhanced opportunities for emerging football talents.
