Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have dealt a major blow to terrorist activities in Katsina State, neutralizing 12 armed bandits—including the notorious kingpin Kachallah Dogo—during a fierce gun battle in Maigora village, Faskari Local Government Area.
Acting on intelligence, the troops engaged the terrorists, who had stormed the village around 12:30 p.m. on Friday. In the initial confrontation, five bandits were neutralized, and two motorcycles were seized. The fleeing assailants later regrouped for a counterattack but were met with superior firepower, leading to another seven being eliminated. Mortar strikes scattered the remaining fighters, forcing them into disarray.
Further combing of the battlefield led to the capture of seven additional motorcycles, while intelligence reports indicate that a key bandit leader, Malum, sustained gunshot wounds.
Sources confirmed that 12 terrorists, including the dreaded Dogo, were buried on Friday evening. Meanwhile, security forces have fortified the area to prevent any resurgence of criminal activities.
