Feared bandit kingpin Ado Aleiro, who once terrorized Zamfara State and its environs, has gone into hiding as intensified military operations close in on his stronghold.
Security forces, in a determined push against armed banditry, have reported significant successes in dismantling criminal networks in the villages of Eastern and Western Tsafe. Impeccable sources confirm that Aleiro has retreated to the remote village of Asaula in Eastern Tsafe, constantly shifting his location to evade capture.
The pressure is mounting, with security operatives deploying strategic ambushes that have neutralized key bandit groups. Aleiro’s brother, Dan Isihu, another notorious figure linked to numerous killings, narrowly escaped an encounter with soldiers along the Kyaware road. He reportedly crossed a river in a desperate bid to elude his pursuers.
