The coalition of small scale miners association and political associates of late Alhaji Umaru Ali-Shinkafi, has commended President Bola Tinubu for reappointment of Fatima Umaru-Shinkafi by the present administration.
Newsmen reports that Umaru-Shinkafi was reappointed as the Executive Secretary of Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI).
Addressing a joint press conference on Monday in Sokoto, the leader of the coalition, Alhaji Kabiru Oro-Kauran Namoda, said people of Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi states welcomed the reappointment.
Oro-Kauran Namoda, who is also the Special Adviser to All Progress Party (APC) National Legal Adviser, explained that Tinubu had demostrated his good style of leadership.
He noted that Tinubu’s stewardship of listening to people yearnings and aspirations would continue to serve as solution to political challenges in the country.
He described the appointment as a well considered, adding that it would further consolidate and strengthen the solid minerals sector achievements.
He further explained said that Tinubu had once more fulfilled his campaign promises of appointing women into key positions in government, an eloquent testimony that his government is gender friendly.
According to him, Fatima Umaru-Shinkafi have been forefront on supporting people especially indigines of northwest states through emulating her father footprints on people empowerment, poverty reduction, religious and community development initiatives.
He advised Umaru-Shinkafi to justify the confidence reposed on her to drive the non-oil sector of the economy in tandem with Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda of a prosperous, equitable and best ways to facilitate nation’s progress.
The coalition leader urged the Umaru-Shinkafi to remain a visionary leader and master strategist in the solid minerals industry, Umaru-Shinkafi’s laudable reform had revolutionalising the sector.
He highlighted that under watch the sector had attracted local and foreign investors and repositioned Nigeria as a competitive player in the global minerals market.
He expressed disappointment over some individuals from Zamfara state who were undermining the capacity of Umaru-Shinkafi and criticised her reappointment on SMDF/PAGMI management.
He condemned the actions stressing that most of them benefited with her father’s support on different areas.
