Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has shut down speculation about a return to boyhood club Sporting CP, despite his deep affection for the team.
“I love watching Sporting games, it’s my team… but I’m not planning to return playing there,” Ronaldo told Canal 11.
The 39-year-old Al Nassr star acknowledged his Portuguese roots but dismissed any possibility of a late-career homecoming.
“I think it makes no sense. Of course, my country is Portugal, but everything has a time and a limit,” he added.
With his sights still set on competing at the highest level, Ronaldo’s statement leaves little room for nostalgia-driven moves.
