The gloves are off. President Tinibu has ordered an all-out manhunt for the terrorists behind the deadly Kasuwan Daji attack in Niger State, directing Nigeria’s full security arsenal to track them down, rescue abducted victims, and deliver swift justice.
In a hardline State House directive on Sunday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu charged the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services to pursue the attackers relentlessly—across forests, borders, and hideouts.
“They must be hunted down,” the President declared.
The assailants, suspected to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara following a Christmas Eve U.S. airstrike, stormed Kasuwan Daji in a bloody rampage—killing villagers and abducting women and children. President Tinibu condemned the attack as a direct assault on Nigeria’s peace and sovereignty.
“No matter who they are or what their intent is, they will face the full consequences of their criminal actions,” the President said, warning that anyone who aids, abets, or shelters terrorists will also be brought to book.
Reassuring residents, Tinibu ordered intensified security operations around vulnerable communities, particularly those near forests long exploited as criminal sanctuaries. The priority, he stressed, is urgent rescue of all abducted victims and denial of any safe haven to terror groups.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the slain and to the Government and people of Niger State, calling the tragedy a national wound.
Even as anger simmers, the President urged Nigerians to stand together and reject divisive rhetoric that could undermine the fight against terror.
“These times demand our humanity. United, we can—and must—defeat these monsters and reclaim peace,” Tinibu said.
As security forces fan out and operations escalate, the message from the Presidency is unmistakable: Kasuwan Daji will not be forgotten. Terror will be chased down—and crushed.
