National Malaria Elimination Programmes (MMEP) in collaboration with the Katsina State government parleyed with the media on its effort to reduce the prevalence rate of malaria in Katsina State.
The project which is sponsored by the Global fund malaria project would commence on the 3rd of March this year, with the registration before the distribution of about 5,229,383 Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) in the Katsina State
The Demands creation lead for the campaign in Katsina State, Mrs Hope Obokoh, called on the media to assist the partners and other stakeholders in spreading the message that would help in eliminating malaria, giving to its negative effects in the lives of pregnant women and children below the age of five.
Lamenting further that the issue of malaria is under-reported despite the Nigerian records of 27 per cent prevalence, calling on hands to be on deck to ensure distribution of the nets to Katsina State residents through a door to door approach.
