Fear gripped residents of Katsina-Ala and Logo Local Government Areas on Thursday as suspected cultists and unidentified gunmen launched separate deadly attacks, leaving four people injured.
At about 11:00 p.m., cultists reportedly struck near the Head Bridge area in Katsina-Ala, shooting one Emmanuel (surname withheld) in the shoulder. The victim was swiftly rushed to Toro Hospital for emergency treatment.
Earlier that same evening, at 5:30 p.m., chaos erupted in Azege, Logo LGA, when unknown gunmen opened fire along Tse Abi Road, hitting three unsuspecting villagers—Iorhemba Aondonengen, Amo Orseer, and Bem Sughter—all residents of Ayilamo village.
The injured trio was taken to the Primary Health Care Clinic in Ayilamo, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Security personnel have since been deployed to both scenes as authorities launch manhunts for the perpetrators. Police have vowed to restore order and bring those responsible to justice.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant as investigations continue into the coordinated attacks.
