Nigeria Customs Service Mourns Fallen Hero in Katsina State

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is plunged into mourning as Customs Assistant II Auwal Haruna falls in the line of duty.

The sombre incident unfolded at the Gamji Makaho checkpoint in Dankama, Katsina State, during a valiant effort to intercept a convoy suspected of illegal activities on April 17, 2024.

Haruna, along with fellow officers, displayed unwavering bravery in confronting economic saboteurs, only to face a violent backlash from an enraged mob.

The tragic outcome resulted in the untimely passing of Haruna, who has been laid to rest with full honours in his hometown of Kayawa, under the Dutsi Local Government Area.

The entire NCS fraternity, led by Comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, extends profound condolences to Haruna’s family and vehemently condemns the senseless act of violence that claimed his life.
