As we usher in the New Year, Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council, extends his warmest greetings and heartfelt wishes to all esteemed members of the union.
“Happy New Year!” declares Chairman Dederi, expressing optimism and renewed energy as we embark on the journey of 2025.
“This time of year offers us an invaluable opportunity to reflect on our past achievements and challenges, paving the way for new goals ahead.
Together, we have championed truth, giving a voice to the voiceless and navigating through turbulent times.”
Emphasizing the importance of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in journalism, Dederi reinforces the pivotal role the media plays in today’s society.
“As we continue to combat misinformation and promote transparency in governance, let us stay committed to the ethical standards that define our noble profession,” he urged.
Chairman Dederi calls for strengthening unity and collaboration amongst members to enhance welfare and build a vibrant community of journalists.
“Together, we can confront emerging challenges in our industry. Innovation and adaptability to the evolving media landscape are crucial for maintaining our relevance and impact,” he added.
He encourages all members to engage in professional development opportunities, share knowledge, and support one another.

In closing, Dederi wishes peace, prosperity, and good health to members and their families in 2025, full of new opportunities and successes for both individuals and the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kano State Council.
