On November 21, 2024, ACN Sadiya Ahmad Dogara, the NDLEA Wudil Area Commander of Kano State Command, made a significant courtesy call at Al-Istiqama University Sumaila.
The visit was part of the Command’s continued efforts to sensitize university students and the surrounding community on the dangers of illicit substances, with the goal of preventing their use.
During the meeting, Professor Sheikh Salisu Shehu, the Vice Chancellor of Al-Istiqama University, expressed the university’s unwavering commitment to partner with the NDLEA in the fight against drug abuse.
He praised the NDLEA for their prompt responses to invitations and their successful operations in apprehending drug peddlers around the campus.
As a gesture of appreciation and confidence in the NDLEA’s efforts, the university donated two motorcycles to the Wudil Area Command.
”This generous donation, made on behalf of the university’s founder, Sen Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, will significantly enhance the NDLEA’s surveillance and operational capabilities in Sumaila and its surrounding areas.
ACN Sadiya Ahmad Dogara, representing the State Commander, CN AI Ahmad, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the donation.
She emphasized that her officers would intensify their efforts to combat illicit drugs and drug abuse not only on the university campus but also throughout the Sumaila Local Government Area and the Wudil Area Command.
This collaboration marks a crucial step in the ongoing fight against drug-related issues, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for students and the community at large.
