NDC: Zulum Bags Excellence, Service to the Nation Award

The Governing Board of the National Defence College (NDC) has honoured the Executive Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, with the Excellence and Service to the Nation award.

The NDC’s Governing board comprises the Honourable Minister of Defence as chairman, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Naval Staff, the Chief of Air Staff, and the Commandant of the National Defence College. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence is the Secretary of the Board.

The award was presented on Wednesday at the NDC’s Course 32 Dinner/ Awards Night held at the National Defence College’s headquarters in Abuja.

Borno’s Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Tar, represented the governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, and received the Award on his behalf.

Speaking at the occasion, the Commandant of the college, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morakinyo Olotu, noted that the award was in recognition of Gov. Zulum’s contribution to knowledge transfer, commitment to the fight against insurgency, and nation-building in Nigeria.

Many dignitaries attended the event, including the Special Guest of Honour, the President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON, represented by Senator Otumba Gbenga Daniels.
