The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has recommended the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency for Hajj operations after inspecting facilities put in place for the smooth airlift of intending pilgrims in the state.
The recommendation followed an official inspection visit by an NCAA delegation led by Engr. Abba Shuaibu Babagana to Kebbi State on Sunday.
During the visit, the team conducted a comprehensive assessment of key facilities at the Kauran Gwandu Hajj Camp, evaluating the state’s level of preparedness ahead of the 2026 Hajj airlift exercise.
Officials inspected the camp’s ICT Centre, where digital documentation and pilgrims’ data management are handled to ensure seamless processing of intending pilgrims.
The delegation also toured the Conference Hall used for operational meetings and the Screening Hall where medical examinations, documentation verification, and other pre-departure screening procedures are conducted to ensure compliance with travel requirements.
In addition, the NCAA team assessed the general environment of the camp and expressed satisfaction with the level of cleanliness, organisation, and available facilities designed to support pilgrims during the preparation stage of the pilgrimage.
According to the officials, the infrastructure and operational arrangements put in place by the agency reflect the commitment of the Kebbi State Government to ensuring a smooth, safe, and well-coordinated Hajj operation.
The inspection forms part of routine assessments conducted by the NCAA to ensure that states comply with aviation and operational standards required for the successful airlift of pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
