The Katsina State chapter of the National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) has been urged to uphold the values of integrity and professionalism as it guides the next generation of journalists in the state.

This call was made by the Publisher of Katsina City News, Mallam Danjuma Muhammad, when he received a delegation from NALVEJ led by its state chairman, Mallam Badamasi Bukar Rumah. The team visited his office along Yahaya Madaki Way in Katsina.

Reflecting on a previous visit to the Lagos branch of NALVEJ, Mallam Danjuma noted how young media professionals there regularly seek advice and mentorship from veterans. He expressed optimism that the Katsina chapter, though newly formed, was a welcome development and long overdue.

Describing the initiative as timely, he emphasized that “it’s better late than never” and pledged his full support to the league. Mallam Danjuma offered his fully equipped media studio, located beside his office, for NALVEJ’s use in conducting professional activities and trainings.

In his remarks, NALVEJ Katsina chairman Mallam Badamasi Bukar Rumah said the visit was aimed at exploring areas of partnership between the league and Katsina City News. He recalled the longstanding working relationships many members of the league had with Mallam Danjuma during their days in broadcasting and print media.

He appealed for continued cooperation and support to enable NALVEJ to flourish and achieve its goals in the state.

Mallam Danjuma was also urged to assist the league in securing a permanent office space, and he was commended for the moral and logistical support already extended to the group.
