NAF Chief Launches 2-Day Mission in Katsina, Boosts Security Efforts

In a determined move to enhance security in the North-West, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, kicked off a 2-day operational tour in Katsina on 15 September 2024.

The visit focused on assessing the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) operational readiness at the 213 Forward Operating Base (FOB) and the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD).

During his stay, Air Marshal Abubakar met with Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda, praising the state’s strides in tackling banditry, which enabled a safe planting season. The CAS assured continued air operations and the deployment of a Quick Response Wing to protect farmers during the harvest. Governor Radda lauded NAF’s efforts and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to collaboration in keeping Katsina secure.

The CAS’s tour underscores NAF’s ongoing push to stamp out insecurity, alongside bolstering intelligence-sharing and reinforcing military presence in vulnerable areas.
