A chilling discovery has unsettled residents of Gwadabawa as security agencies probe the death of an unidentified man found wearing a Niger Republic security uniform in a remote bush in Sokoto State.
The Sokoto State Police Command confirmed that the lifeless body was discovered in Timeji bush, a secluded hamlet under Gigane District in Gwadabawa Local Government Area. The grim find was made after a distress call reached security operatives at about 9:48 a.m. on February 8, 2026.
According to security sources, troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, working alongside the police and Sokoto Community Guards, swiftly moved to the location. On arrival, they confirmed that the body bore gunshot injuries—raising strong suspicions that the victim may have been killed elsewhere before being dumped in the isolated area.
