MPS Media, led by Associate Professor Ahmad Adamu, has launched its much-anticipated Poetry Challenge in Katsina, drawing a lively crowd and celebrating the artistry of rising poets.
The first stage of the competition, tagged the Blind Audition, took place on September 27. Judges were shielded from seeing the contestants, focusing entirely on voice, message, and delivery. This format ensured that creativity and poetic depth—not appearance—determined success.
Young poets from Katsina and neighboring states delivered original works exploring themes of love, culture, identity, social justice, and community development. Their powerful performances earned applause from the audience, while judges praised the richness of talent emerging from the region.
Several standout performers secured spots in the next round, where they will receive mentorship as they progress toward the grand finale.
Organizers said the Poetry Challenge was designed to uncover hidden talent, nurture creativity, and promote literary excellence while empowering young voices to inspire change through art.
With the first stage wrapped up, audiences can expect even more gripping performances as the contest continues in the coming weeks.
