Mega Farm of Ngala: Boosting Food Security through Irrigation Farming in Borno State

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s administration has launched an irrigation farming project in Ngala, Borno State, to enhance food security. This initiative promotes sustainable farming practices, enhances food production, and improves livelihoods in Ngala.

The project covers several communities, including Gamboru pump house with three bores, Ladari village with three bores, and Nuwari with three bores. Currently, there are nine bores in the areas, with plans to dig 100 more bores across the region. The project may also be expanded to Wulgo irrigation sites.

Hon. Abdulrahman Abdulkarim, the supervisor of Farm Irrigation, alongside the director Mega Farm of Ngala, Jugudum Ali Ngala, recently visited the area to oversee the project’s progress. Accompanied by the Vice Chairman of Ngala, Hon. Lawan Tijjani, and committee members, Hon Abdulrahman assessed the project’s status and expressed gratitude to Governor Zulum.

Hon Abdulrahman Abdulkarim pledged to find lasting solutions to the farmers’ needs and urged them to seize the opportunity. He emphasized that irrigation farming is a priority for the governor and assured the farmers that his administration is committed to supporting all, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or tribe.

By supporting irrigation farming, Governor Zulum’s administration is taking a significant step towards boosting food security in Borno State.Hon Abdulrahman Abdulkarim addressed the people, emphasizing the importance of making the project a success and encouraging the community to work tirelessly to ensure the project’s progress.
