Katsina state governor Alh Aminu Bello Masari has declared his support to groups calling for an anabling law to provide back ups on the various social intervention programs initiated by president Muhammadu Buhari.
This is to ensure their sustenance even after the exit of his administration.
Alh Aminu Masari made the declaration at a National social intervention program beneficiary rally organized by a national NGO “Social protection & good family value initiatives ” in collaboration with the office of the special Advieser to the state governor on Empowerment & special intervention held at Muhammadu Dikko stadium katsina.
The governor who Promised to deliver the latter of request presented by the Association to the president, promised to prepare a covering latter from the state govt.
He however pleaded the electorates in the state to initimate members of the house of representatives of their respective areas on the matter for possible presentation of bill for a law.
Governor Aminu Masari appreciated president Muhammadu Buhari for initiating chain of social intervention programs which he said touched the lives of the common man.
He observed that from the amalgamation of Nigeria in Nineteen forteen the country never had a caring president like Buhari whose intention is to lift Nigerians out of poverty.
Earlier the Minister of Humanitarian & disaster management Hajiya Saadiya Umar Faruq appreciated the large gathering of the beneficiaries of social interventions took part in the rally, which he said proved the desire of president Muhammadu Buhari to lift ten Million Nigerians out of poverty.
The Minister who spoke through the National coordinator, National Social Intervention program Engineer Umar Bindir said the chain of Social Intervention program covered N-power that train young men & women, for self employment.
According to him another program Government enterprises Empowerment program was geared toward providing soft loans to the trained young entrepreneurs.
The Minister said School feeding is another program that consumed produce of the entrepreneurs like farm produce,, fish,eggs & the like to feed the school pupils who attractected more women cooking for them..
He then thanked the Social protection & good family initiatives for organizing the rally to propagate the good initiatives of the president across the country..
Earlier in an address of welcome,the special Advieser to the state governor on Empowerment & special intervention who is also the state focal person of the National Social Intervention program Alh Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir said the social intervention program consist of national home grown school feeding,N- power,, Conditional cash transfer & Government enterprises Empowerment program.
According to him 2,143 house holds across the twelve selected local govts are benefitting from the Conditional cash transfer,,10,500 women engaged as food vendors cooking for the 833,957 pupils of 2,777 primary schools benefitting from the home grown school feeding in the state.
This he said was in addition to 14,400 young men & women registered under N-power.
Alh Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir said the positive impact of the Social Intervention programms enfluenced the social protection imitative to organize the rally in the state.
Also speaking the state coordinator of the social protection & good family value initiatives Mustapha Bara’u said the initiative is a National NGO with branches across all the states of the federation.
According to him the rally was to register appreciation to the president for coming up with varous program that torched the lives of the common man in line with their mission.
This he said was in addition to presenting a letter to the governor requesting for an enabling law to provide for the sustenance of the intervention program even after the current administration for unward submission to the president..
On behalf of the beneficiaries Sakina Bala from kaita local govt pleaded for an enabling law to provide for automatic employment to females engaged under N-power program.
