The National Convention Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), chaired by former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari, on Saturday held its maiden meeting in Abuja, marking the formal commencement of preparations for the party’s forthcoming national convention.
The inaugural meeting brought together members of the committee tasked with organizing and coordinating activities leading to the convention, a crucial gathering expected to shape the future direction of the ruling party.
Speaking at the meeting, Masari emphasized the importance of transparency, unity, and collective commitment in ensuring a successful convention that would further strengthen the APC as Nigeria’s governing party.
He urged committee members to work diligently and uphold the party’s democratic ideals while laying the groundwork for a credible and hitch-free convention.
The committee is expected to outline a comprehensive roadmap for the convention, including logistics, accreditation, and other critical arrangements necessary for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
Party stakeholders say the maiden meeting signals the beginning of a series of consultations and planning sessions ahead of the APC national convention, which will bring together delegates and leaders from across the country.
