The President of the Institute, who presented the award, praised Masari’s dedication and transformative initiatives in transport and education. Since his recent appointment by President Bola Tinubu as Chairman of TETFUND’s Board, Masari has been instrumental in enhancing educational infrastructure and standards, bringing his extensive experience in governance to the institution.

Masari’s career is marked by a longstanding commitment to public service, having served previously as the Governor of Katsina State and Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives. Throughout his tenure in public office, he has focused on initiatives that bridge gaps in infrastructure and education, especially in Northern Nigeria. The IoTA recognized Masari for his extensive contributions to transport, highlighting his influence in establishing systems that improve mobility and connectivity within the country, critical for national development.

Prominent figures and dignitaries attended the ceremony to show support and admiration for Masari’s accomplishments. Among them were Alhaji Salisu Mamman Kadandani, CEO of Continental Computer, who acknowledged Masari’s influence on the modernization of Katsina’s transport sector; Alhaji Mansur Liman, former Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN); Alhaji Musa Haruna Rugoji, General Manager of the Katsina State Transport Authority; Alhaji Tasi’u Dahiru Dandagoro, the former Commissioner of Works; and Alhaji Abdul’aziz Mamuda Maituraka. Each of these dignitaries spoke highly of Masari’s legacy and the positive changes he continues to drive within Nigeria.

Accepting the award, Masari expressed his gratitude and dedication to Nigeria’s growth and development. “I am honored to receive this recognition from the Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria,” Masari remarked. “Our transport sector is vital to connecting our communities, supporting our economy, and providing our people with better access to opportunities. I am committed to continuing this work, especially through my role at TETFUND, to ensure that our tertiary education institutions receive the support they need to thrive.”

Masari emphasized the link between transport and education, noting that improved transport systems provide students, educators, and staff with greater access to quality educational resources. His vision includes leveraging his role at TETFUND to bolster educational infrastructure, which he believes will lead to better-trained graduates entering the workforce, thereby fostering economic growth and stability in Nigeria.

The Honorary Fellow Chartered Award from the IoTA not only celebrates Masari’s achievements in transport but also highlights his dedication to national progress. The award, according to IoTA’s President, is reserved for individuals whose work impacts Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape in meaningful ways. Masari’s contributions, spanning several decades, exemplify this standard.

As Masari continues his work at TETFUND, his legacy of public service remains a guiding light for future leaders. His impact in both transport and education demonstrates a commitment to uplifting Nigerian communities, underscoring the transformative power of dedicated governance in advancing the nation’s development goals.
