The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) executives, stakeholders, and concerned leaders in Marte Local Government Area have reaffirmed their firm loyalty and commitment to the party, debunking rumours of defection to another political platform.
In a communiqué issued at the Borno State PDP Secretariat in Maiduguri on Monday, July 7, 2025, the leaders—drawn from all political wards in Marte—stated categorically that they remain fully aligned with the values, principles, and leadership of the PDP.
Reading the communiqué, the PDP Chairman in Marte LGA said the meeting was convened in response to circulating rumours on social media alleging the group’s defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He described the claims as false and misleading, stressing that the Marte PDP remains united and focused on advancing the objectives of the party at all levels.
“We, therefore, unequivocally reaffirm our loyalty and support to our great party, the PDP,” the communiqué stated.
Also speaking, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Amos Adziba, reiterated the collective resolve of the Marte stakeholders to continue working for the progress and unity of the party. He called on all PDP members in the state to remain vigilant and to resist any attempt to sow discord or undermine the party’s structure.
Adziba further urged party members to support the efforts of the State Working Committee (SWC), led by Alhaji Zanna Gaddama, in steering the party through a critical period of reorganisation and mobilisation.
