Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has broken his silence after honouring an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), declaring that he has been released and cleared for a further scheduled engagement as investigators probe allegations he described as “fabricated.”
In a statement issued on Friday, Malami said he remained committed to keeping Nigerians informed about the development, noting that the outcome of his interaction with the EFCC was “successful.”
According to him, “In line with my undertaking to keep Nigerians updated on my invitation by the EFCC, I give glory to Allah for His divine intervention. The engagement was successful and I am eventually released, while on an appointment for further engagement as the truth relating to the fabricated allegations against me continue to unfold.”
Malami reaffirmed his readiness to cooperate fully with investigators, insisting that he has nothing to hide and is confident that the facts will ultimately vindicate him.
He also thanked Nigerians for their prayers, support, and patience, stressing that his faith remains unshaken.
The EFCC has yet to release official details of the allegations, but sources say the former Minister of Justice is expected to return for additional clarifications as the inquiry continues.
