The Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, has expressed unwavering confidence in the readiness of troops to confront the Lakurawa terrorist group along the Nigeria-Niger border.
During an operational visit to the DHQ Special Operations Brigade in Balle, Sokoto State, on January 10, 2025, General Soyele stressed the importance of maintaining Nigeria’s territorial integrity. He urged troops to remain vigilant and determined in dismantling the terrorist threat.
Calling for community support, the Commander highlighted the critical role of intelligence sharing and collaboration in achieving lasting peace. He assured residents that the operation aims not only to restore security but also to create an environment for sustainable development.
Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, confirmed the operation’s focus on fostering unity between the military and local communities for long-term stability.
