A devastating flood has swept through Maiduguri, Borno State, following the collapse of the Alou Dam in Konduga Local Government Area. The floodwaters left thousands stranded, prompting an immediate military response. Troops from Operation Hadin Kai have spearheaded a large-scale search and rescue mission, evacuating trapped civilians and providing essential aid.
The swift action by the military comes amid rising concerns over the city’s vulnerability to future floods. With homes submerged and roads cut off, emergency services are working round the clock to prevent further loss of life.
