Louise Haigh has stepped down as the UK Transport Secretary following revelations about a decade-old incident. Haigh admitted to providing incorrect information to police in 2013, claiming a work mobile phone had been stolen.

In her resignation letter to the Prime Minister, Haigh reaffirmed her loyalty to the government’s agenda, stating, “I am totally committed to our political project.” However, she added that her decision to leave was rooted in her belief that the government’s mission would be better served without her in a ministerial role.
