Katsina State Department of Local Government Inspectorate has vowed to take drastic action against erring staff.
This was in a statement Signed by the Special Adviser LG Inspectorate Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana in Katsina.
The statement followed a deliberate false report provided to the Department by a staff on special posting to Works Department of the Inspectorate.
The staff according to the statement was assigned to inspect and assess the level of a project conducted by Kaita LG Council, but derailed in providing authentic report to the Inspectorate.
His action according to the statement misguided the Inspectorate to take action against officials of the LGA supervising the project on false information
A review of the Officers report by the Department however confirmed the project was completed. The Special Adviser therefore ordered the redeployment of the Officer to the Local Government Service Commission for reassignment.
Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana reaffirmed the commitment of the Inspectorate Department towards ensuring objectivity to strengthen discipline amongst staff, warning that the Department will not tolerate insurbodination and laxity in the course of duty.
