The upcoming meeting aims to facilitate discussions among all stakeholders engaged in negotiations, with the goal of reaching an agreement on a new minimum wage announcement by April 1, once the current N30,000 minimum wage expires as mandated by law.
On January 30, 2024, a 37-member panel on the new minimum wage was inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu, represented by his deputy Kashim Shettima, at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.
The panel, which includes representatives from the federal and state governments, the private sector, and organized labor, will propose a new national minimum wage for the country.
