Dominic Igwebike, NUEE’s Acting General Secretary, issued a statement condemning TCN’s alleged tactics, urging the management to prioritize improving the transmission network and addressing frequent grid collapses instead of interfering with labor issues.
This accusation comes amid a broader conflict sparked by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC)’s call for an indefinite strike.
The strike is in response to the Federal Government’s delay in enacting a new National Minimum Wage Act and the controversial hike in electricity tariffs.
NUEE has affirmed its commitment to the strike, emphasizing the dire economic conditions facing Nigerian workers.
