Alleges Neglect of Loyal Party Supporters in Favor of Selfish Aides
The National leadership of the Kwankwasiyya Coalition of Concerned Citizens for Sustainable Development has issued a stern warning to Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, over what it described as the growing influence of “cabinet cabals” within his administration.
In a strongly worded statement signed by its National Chairman, Comrade Dayyib Hassan Ahmad, the coalition expressed deep concern over the conduct of some cabinet members, accusing them of pursuing personal gains at the expense of the governor’s developmental agenda.
The statement lamented that loyal supporters who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the NNPP in the 2023 elections are being sidelined, while individuals with little or no contribution to the party’s victory are reaping the rewards.
“It is equally worrisome that people who laboured for the success of NNPP in Kano are left unattended to. Some of these cabinet members did nothing for the party’s success and are only in government for selfish interests,” the coalition stated.
While reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya movement, the group urged Governor Yusuf to cleanse his cabinet of those it described as political opportunists.
The Kwankwasiyya Coalition, established in 2019, warned that continued neglect of grassroots loyalists could dampen the spirit of the movement and weaken the governor’s credibility among his strongest supporters.
