Abcnews reports that the inspection team, led by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Ali Makoda, and the Commissioner for Works, visited the dam alongside experts from their respective ministries.

Speaking to journalists during the visit, Ali Makoda highlighted the significance of the inspection.

Makoda referenced the recent situation at the Alo Dam, which has prompted widespread concern.

“What happened at the Alo Dam sent a very negative signal to Nigerians. That is why His Excellency directed us to be here today.”

Reassuring the public, Makoda stated that the experts had reviewed the dam’s current condition and found no cause for alarm.

“We have listened to the experts, and all indications show that the dam is intact. There is nothing to worry about.”

The inspection is part of the state government’s proactive measures to prevent any potential flooding disasters as the rainy season intensifies.

The team is expected to continue their assessment at other key dams in the state, including Bagwai and Challawa.
