Kano State Government has directed for the completion of the abandoned phase II of renovation project that contain additional wards and staff offices at Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital in Kano metropolitan.
The state Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf gave the directive when he paid an unscheduled visit to the hospital.
He also directed the State Ministry of Health to ensure furnishing of the facility with immediate effect for resumption of health care services delivery without delay.
The areas inspected by the governor include; laboratories, theatres, wards, mosque among others where he expressed satisfaction with the level of the work done so far.
“I am at facility to see for myself the level of rehabilitating the facility that is providing ante and post natal care to many pregnant women in the state and strategically located in Kano city.
“Directive has been given to the contractor handling the phase II renovation project hosting wards and staff offices to immediately return to site to complete the remaining aspects of the work.”
When the renovation is completed and the hospital resumes normal operations, it will augment the services of neighbouring health facilities especially in metropolitant.
