Katsina State has been thrown into mourning following the death of the Managing Director of the Katsina State Water Board, Engr. Tukur Tingilin.
The management and staff of the agency confirmed his passing late Thursday, February 26, 2026, describing it as a painful loss not only to the Board but to the entire state.
Until his death, Engr. Tingilin served as the helmsman of the Water Board, where he spearheaded key policies and reforms aimed at improving potable water supply across urban and rural communities in Katsina. His tenure was marked by sustained efforts to expand access to clean and safe water for residents.
Colleagues and associates remembered him as a committed technocrat and dedicated public servant whose leadership strengthened the agency’s drive toward efficient service delivery.
Condolences have continued to pour in from government officials, friends and members of the public, who prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
Funeral arrangements, in line with Islamic rites, are expected to be announced by his family.
