Katsina Town hall: Typhoid terrorises citizens of Jibia CSO’s

Typhoid fever terrorises people of Jibia local government over the consumption of poorly treated water produced by the government old water treatment plant in the area.
Comrade Aminu Abdullahi the chairman of Civil society organisations in Jibia area stated this at the town hall meeting organized by Katsina state government in Katsina on Thursday.
He said that the residents of the area had been compelled to be drinking the poorly treated water  which was constructed in the area for the past 35 years.
The chairman further said that most of the water treatment equipment installed during the president Ibrahim Babangida  administration had become obsolete.
The obsolete equipment are incapable of treating potable water for human consumption.
He called on Katsina state government to immediately refurbish the water treatment plant and the Jibia General hospital to save the residents from untimely death.
