In a demonstration of its commitment to enhancing the lives of its citizens, the Katsina State Government has reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with any development partners.
Radda made this assurance while hosting a high-powered delegation led by Dr. Abdu Musa, Deputy Incidence Manager of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA).
Governor Radda expressed appreciation for the recently launched accountability framework in the state’s health sector, emphasizing its role in ensuring that all critical stakeholders meet expectations for better service delivery.
He suggested that similar frameworks be considered for other sectors to boost performance.
Regarding the planned upgrade to a standard emergency operations healthcare center, recently approved by the NPHCDA, Governor Radda promised budgetary provisions for its full utilization.
He also directed the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency to officially address the issues with the state task force on immunization, highlighting the importance of revamping it for better functionality.
Dr. Abdu Musa noted the emergence of polio variants in hard-to-reach areas due to security challenges and stressed the need for government intervention.
He praised Governor Radda’s efforts in repositioning the health sector and confirmed the approval for upgrading emergency operation centers in Katsina and Kano states to operate 24/7, responding to all health emergencies.
During the two-day visit, the team met with Hajia Zulaihat Dikko Umar Radda, local council chairmen, traditional rulers, and community members to gather insights on how to better support immunization and other healthcare initiatives.
Dr. Sam, representing the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, commended Governor Radda for his commitment to tackling security challenges, essential for their operations in the state.
