The Katsina State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to assisting farmers in boosting agricultural production, a critical step toward enhancing food security.
This assurance came from Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, Managing Director of the Katsina State Irrigation Authority, during a joint meeting held in his office. The meeting focused on strategies to ensure the success of an upcoming farmers’ data capturing exercise, designed to provide the government with an accurate database of irrigation farmers.
Alhaji Nasir revealed that the agency, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, has finalized arrangements for the exercise. “This initiative will allow us to identify key areas where farmers require support, ensuring targeted assistance to enhance productivity,” he explained, adding that trained personnel are ready to execute the project efficiently.
Highlighting Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda’s achievements in supporting agriculture, Alhaji Nasir praised initiatives such as subsidized fertilizers and farming equipment, which have significantly boosted production across the state.
He expressed gratitude for Governor Radda’s unwavering support and called for continued cooperation to sustain Katsina’s agricultural development.
