The Katsina State Social Investment Programme Agency KASIPA is set to begin updating the state’s Social Register, a key step in boosting support for vulnerable populations.
Dr. Mudassir Nasir, the Executive Director and State Coordinator of KASIPA, officially handed over working materials to Desk Officers from nine local governments, marking the start of the exercise. The affected areas include Funtua, Kafur, Malumfashi, Mai’adua, Sandamu, Danja, Mashi, Kusada, and Zango.
During the ceremony, Dr. Nasir highlighted Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda’s dedication to uplifting the less privileged, noting that the administration has provided all necessary logistics for a seamless process. He urged residents to ensure their National Identification Numbers (NIN) are ready, as only those with NIN will be eligible for inclusion in the updated register.
“The updated Social Register will be a vital tool for implementing empowerment and intervention programs by the government and NGOs,” Dr. Nasir emphasized.
Alhaji Kabir Adamu, the Programme Manager of the Operations and Coordinating Unit (SOCU), called on Desk Officers to ensure inclusivity and accuracy in the exercise. He expressed confidence that the updated register will significantly contribute to reducing poverty in the state.
He commended Governor Radda and Dr. Nasir for their unwavering commitment to KASIPA’s programs, assuring residents of impactful results.
