The Katsina State Government has announced the recruitment of a second batch of its Community Watch Corps, aimed at bolstering security in bandit-prone areas.
Dr Nasir Mu’azu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, revealed that this decision was made during the 9th regular council meeting chaired by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON.
Following the success of the first batch, which reduced insecurity by over 30% in eight local governments, the new recruits will be deployed across ten local governments, including Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, and Funtua.
The government has committed to equipping the recruits with the necessary tools to ensure effective operations.
