In a spirited press briefing ahead of the 37th anniversary of Katsina State’s creation, the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Dr. Bala Salisu Zango, outlined the key events and reflections for this significant milestone.
Scheduled for Monday, September 23, 2024, the commemoration promises a blend of reflection, celebration, and aspirations for the future.
The highlight will be an Award Dinner honoring exemplary civil servants, along with a public sermon by renowned Islamic scholar Professor Isah Ahmed Pantami on the theme Rikon Amana (Keeping the Trust). Dr. Zango praised the visionary leadership of General Ibrahim Babangida, who founded the state in 1987, and paid tribute to past and present leaders for their contributions to the state’s development.
Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has established a high-level committee led by Secretary to the Government of the State, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari, to oversee the anniversary’s activities. Dr. Zango emphasized the state’s achievements in education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure, while stressing the administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity.
