Katsina State Disburses ₦8.4 Billion School Improvement Grant to 100 Schools

Governor Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda has launched the third phase of the AGILE school improvement grant, disbursing over ₦8.4 billion to 100 selected secondary schools across Katsina State.

Supported by the World Bank, the funds will enhance school infrastructure, including classroom renovations, new constructions, and improved water facilities.

During the ceremony at Rimi Senior Secondary School, Governor Radda announced each school would receive over ₦85 million.

He urged the School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) to utilize the funds effectively, warning that failure to meet 80% of project deliverables could jeopardize future grants.

The initiative, covering over 400 schools, reflects the administration’s commitment to education.

State Commissioner Hajia Hadiza Abubakar Yaradua highlighted ongoing teacher development and curriculum reviews.

Dr. Mustapha Shehu, AGILE Coordinator, noted the program’s success in increasing classroom seating and supporting vulnerable children.

The event concluded with local leaders requesting further infrastructure improvements.
