Katsina State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Engr. Surajo Yazid Abukur, has pledged his full support to help talented young footballers across the state achieve their professional dreams.
He made the promise while receiving the Chairman and members of the Daura Senatorial Zone PMB Memorial Super Cup Local Organizing Committee (LOC) on a courtesy visit to his office.
Engr. Abukur, who described Governor Dikko Umaru Radda as a passionate sports lover, reaffirmed his commitment to complementing the governor’s vision of promoting sports development at all levels in Katsina State.
He commended the Daura Zone PMB Memorial Super Cup Committee for their transparency and dedication in organizing fair competitions, urging them to sustain the momentum.
The commissioner also directed the LOC to collaborate with the Ministry in organizing a statewide football tournament under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, aimed at discovering and nurturing hidden talents across all local governments.
Earlier, the delegation’s leader, Alhaji Sani Abu Daura, briefed the commissioner on their activities and expressed readiness to partner with the ministry in advancing grassroots sports, particularly football, in Katsina State.
With renewed collaboration and commitment, Engr. Abukur assured that the state will continue to serve as a breeding ground for future football stars who will make Katsina and Nigeria proud.
